Why is it so hard to change?

Why is it so hard to change?

Over the past 30 years I’ve done a lot of different training and certifications. I learned new knowledge from all of them but only a few of them felt deeply transformative.

What made those few training courses so transformative?

It was the mixture of knowledge, practice and time for integration with personal support from the trainer and the community.

Honouring your own rhythm and natural cycles as a woman

Honouring your own rhythm and natural cycles as a woman

I know this time of the year can be very challenging for many of us. I've been having many conversations with other female practitioners who are feeling overwhelmed and stretched out right now.

So when I opened one of the emails in my inbox about how to create a thriving business and the first thing written was about: ‘showing up relentlessly’ I felt a strong body reaction.

I know from experience that our words and the language we use have deep meaning. I also know that my body clearly shows me how I feel about things. So I took some time to pause and listen within to understand this strong somatic reaction.

Here is what I learned as I listened within…

Definition of Somatics and Embodiment

I thought it was a great question! And something that needs to be explored.

The word ‘somatic’ is being used more and more, and in so many different contexts. There are so many courses popping up all over the internet using the word ‘somatic’ in the title: Somatic Coaching, Somatic Breathwork, Somatic Yoga, Somatic Dreamwork… It’s important that we understand what these words mean.

So here are some of my reflections on the subject…
