  • “I found this course to be a great way to become a certified Trauma informed yoga teacher. Although I had studied a lot of the material as I had taken other courses related to trauma, this course really helped me integrate that and most importantly the practical and experiential element included, helped me put the regulation and self care practices into my daily life. I benefitted so much from this element and the interaction with Aneta and my yoga peers. I would highly recommend this course to others wanting to become trauma informed, which I believe, is an essential part of yoga teaching in todays world and really also adds to our own self study and care as yoga teachers, also essential in this role in supporting others. I found Aneta to be friendly, accessible, knowledgeable, supportive and encouraging throughout the journey, offering support and mentoring which I will carry on taking up as I delve into this work more.”
    -Amba Yoga

  • “I love Aneta's style of teaching and her way of teaching from a place of passion for the subject and experience. Her joy for sharing these practices shines through her teaching style. She is compassionate and has a lot of attention to detail. I loved every aspect of this course. The course was informative with a lot of resources available, and she reminded us to be gentle and kind to ourselves during the course. I loved that the final assignment was creating our own course, it really helped put it all together and I came away from the course having a readily prepared 6-week course to take to my students!”
    - Anja Yoga

  • I found Aneta to be a knowledgeable and serious teacher, who skillfully draws on her background in social work, supporting traumatised people and families. She absolutely walks her talk and really embodies her teaching.

“Some of the material was familiar to me, and great to revisit from a new perspective, some was new to me, such as applying the Western 4 elements model as a tool for self-assessment and as a framework for classes / courses.

I especially enjoyed the small group discussions, brainstorming different topics and sharing different viewpoints.

My main take-away is that far more people are struggling to cope with the effects of trauma than we realise and applying awareness of this, in practical ways, when teaching ANY classes, is an extremely important element of creating a safe space for all the students.”
    - Anna Blackmore

  • “Aneta Idzcak is a wonderful trainer. Her knowledge in the field of trauma, resilience and embodied yoga is first class. She is warm, welcoming and nurturing. The course itself is informative and insightful and I finished the course feeling prepared and ready to incorporate this training. Whilst there was no manual provided, there was a weekly email sent with a number of really valuable tools/resources which I will continue to use going forwards, both as reference points for my own personal practice, but also in my teaching. The course was delivered online via Zoom due to Covid but Aneta ensured there was a group connection with useful weekly buddy sessions and Zoom rooms throughout the sessions. I came away from this course inspired, enthusiastic and motivated to teach the 8 week programme I had developed as part of this training and feeling capable of delivering it with confidence. I highly recommend Aneta and this course to those interested in teaching yoga for trauma.”
    - Donna Navarro

  • “This course was brilliant. The structure was clearly outlined beforehand, it looked very thorough and delivered just that. As part of the course, we also come away with our own course structure for future use, so we are given a direction to go with the content. Aneta was engaged and supportive throughout, especially when the content triggered personal things. She created a great community and open space for us all to hear each other, and a safe space for us to 'come as you are'. From day 1 I have been using the tools we learned in this course, they have been incredibly insightful and life changing, and I am still using them every day. My teaching has shifted since, using more trauma informed language and the ability to see signs of trauma response if they come up, the space I create feels more inclusive and heard. I am only seeing positive changes to my life and my teaching. Thankyou Aneta. I highly recommend this course.”

  • “I decided to join Aneta's course after attending her 4 hour session on trauma, having just been through a traumatic event myself this was a great introduction to trauma informed work. Going on to do the 50 hour TREY course has been amazing, I've learnt so much about myself and the type of work I want to do going forward. Aneta has such a wealth of knowledge and is warm and generous with her advice and guidance. Aneta provides a safe space to learn about yourself and offers so many different tools to be able to help ourselves which can then lead into helping the people we work with. Even in the short space of time doing this course my teaching style has changed so much and I'm much more aware of the language that I use. If you are interested in learning more about trauma and how it affects our body and wanting to learn more about how to regulate yourself then this course is definitely one I would recommend.”
    - Anna Kerry

  • “Before I started Aneta’s course I was looking for a way to move forward with my teaching; a way of educating my students about all the elements of yoga in an easy accessible way, as well as starting to explore how I could possibly support parents that have experienced child loss, something close to my own heart.

Aneta’s extensive experience of working with trauma and the tools that she uses has added a whole new level to my own practice that has helped piece together a fragmented awareness of my own body and mind. This embodied way of working has allowed me to build resilience easing tension, anxiety and giving me an understanding of reactions to past traumatic events, as well as empowering me in the current moment to avoid burn out or overwhelm.

The course has provided a library of extensive inspiring resources that I can continue to use to inform my teaching and guide my own practice for years to come. Aneta has the ability to make you understand the complexity of trauma while giving you informed practices that allow you to support yourself and your students in a group lesson, one to one or workshop environment. The mentoring sessions she provides alongside the course are brilliant, a real gift to explore topics on the course further while thinking about how you can apply the training to your own business model.

I thank Aneta greatly for opening the pathway to an educated and embodied way of teaching that has taught me to evaluate the importance of body and vocal language, to help me work towards becoming an embodied leader, a title that is now beginning to feel a lot more accessible. “
    - Anna Pichowski

  • “I thoroughly enjoyed this course. Aneta has a great depth of knowledge and her passion for this subject shines through. I appreciated the space that she created in the sessions, allowing us to integrate the learning, giving ample time for enquiry, which in turn created a wonderful community. I particularly appreciated the buddy sessions, so that we could practise together in between sessions, as well as the two mentoring sessions. Highly recommended.”
    - Calmscape Yoga Therapy

  • “I’ve taken a lot of training to ensure my teaching is underpinned by social justice, safe and accessible. This course has brought all that learning together and prepared me to start a new phase in my career - it’s about so much more than being a trauma safe teacher. I’ve addressed my own wellbeing as a teacher and in life, creating a more authentic personal practice. I’ve identified qualities I want to cultivate to in order move forward as an aligned leader and specialist. I've gained tools to create personalised trauma-safe embodiment courses for my clients. Aneta brings a refreshing approach to teacher training; humorous and compassionate, backed by current scientific thinking, avoiding received wisdom and spiritual bypassing and always willing to share her knowledge from years of experience working in social care. If you’re yoga teacher with some experience under your belt and willing to commit to the work, I can’t recommend this programme highly enough.”
    - Camilla Umar

  • “I'd recommend this course to any yoga teacher who would like to deepen their knowledge on teaching trauma-informed yoga. I looked at many courses but what stood out for me was the depth of Aneta’s knowledge and experience. Aneta's training is based on her experience of working with complex needs of clients and families for 16 years in Social Care and her yoga teaching for 13 years. Aneta created a great environment where we could learn, support each other and explore the subject of trauma resilience, embodied yoga, and social impact and how to take this into teaching and coaching. Aneta also coached us into producing a 6-week programme. This course gave me the confidence to bring more embodiment into my coaching – supporting my clients and creating a safe space where they can calm their nervous system and really drop into that embodied sense of rest. This course has also given me the chance to develop my own practice, to slow down which has been increasingly difficult in this last year.”

FEEDBACK from 80-Hr Trauma-informed Yoga & Embodied Resilience (TREY) Teacher Training & Mentoring

Who am I to teach you about Trauma work?

Portrait photo of Aneta Idczak, Founder of the Golden Mandala Yoga-Soma Institute

I feel very passionate about sharing this knowledge because I know how much of a difference it can make to our confidence and the quality of our teaching. I’ve been practicing yoga for over 28 years, and teaching mindfulness yoga and meditation for over 12 years. I also worked with trauma for 22 years, including 16 years front-line in Social Care with trauma, crisis intervention, mental health, addiction, DV, and child protection issues in various settings in London and Kent, where I later trained and supervised workers to engage and support vulnerable individuals and families.

Over last two decades I trained in various modalities including Mindfulness yoga and meditation, Mindfulness and Yoga for Pain, Slow Embodied yoga, Yin/Insight yoga, Psychology and Person-Centred Counselling, Master NLP and NLP for Health and Wellbeing, Life and Wellness Coaching, breathwork, Energy Healing and Reiki Master, Somatics, Embodiment practices, bodywork and Thai Yoga Massage.

I am also an Embodiment/Somatic Coach, Become Safely Embodied Practitioner (BSE) and Focusing (Embodied Listening) Practitioner (currently assisting on modular Focusing Training with Fiona Parr).

I bring all of that experience into my work with clients, creating an integrative approach – a unique mix of bio-psycho-social & spiritual approach that is client-led, compassionate and trauma-informed.

I am registered as Senior Yoga Teacher, Trainer and Mentor/YogaCoach with Yoga Alliance Professionals UK, with over 5000 hours teaching time, and a Founder of Golden Mandala Yoga-Soma Institute

I work closely with Julia Davis and other teacher trainers from Yoga Teachers Forum and deliver CPDs on Ethics, Consent and Trauma for Yoga Teachers workshops.

I have been mentoring and coaching yoga teachers and wellness professionals for many years and offer 1-2-1 Mentoring Programme as well as Embodied Business Mandala™ 1-year Group Mentoring and Coaching Programme – you can find more info here: Embodied Business Mandala™ Mentorship.

  • “I joined Aneta’s course after teaching yoga & mindfulness, and offering Emotional Resilience Coaching for several years. I liked the unique combination of trauma sensitivity, embodiment and resilience. I knew that it would help me to create a more profound transformation for my students and clients. It was clear that embodiment would be hugely beneficial to my clients who feel stressed, anxious and often disconnected from their body. The course has changed the way that I coach and teach yoga: the words I choose to lead my students, the choices I offer them during the sessions, and my own embodiment in classes or sessions. Aneta is a highly knowledgeable trainer who knows how to create a supportive learning environment. She led us through the content and practices skilfully and brought the course to life through her many years of experience. The mentoring sessions were a huge benefit and provided invaluable insight and support. I would wholeheartedly recommend this course.”
    - Isabelle Griffith

  • “Having previously attended Aneta's 4hr CPD 'Trauma & Being Safely Embodied' I knew this course would be well delivered and informative, however it far exceeded my expectations. I didn't know it was possible to learn so much in 10 weeks! One of the things that made this course unique from others I have undertaken is the one-to-one mentoring sessions. Having the opportunity to explore subjects covered on the course and receive support and guidance from Aneta has been invaluable. The buddy sessions were a great way of sharing ideas with the other teachers and in small groups in the break out rooms during the sessions. I signed up with the expectation of learning more about the subjects covered but have come away with so much more. As well as the numerous practices that I am already implementing in my classes the course has helped me to integrate my previous experience as a therapist with my yoga teaching - I now have a much clearer direction for my teaching going forward.”
    - Joy James

  • “Aneta is an experienced teacher with a wealth of knowledge. She made me feel supported and nourished and I learnt so much. The course was well organised, professional, experiential and filled with resources. I loved the buddy chat option and the chats app group for support. Aneta went above and beyond to support me throughout the training. I feel I have grown as a practitioner. I would highly recommend this training. I feel I have a strong grasp of trauma informed working and embodiment and have the confidence to offer this to buy clients.”
    - Koa Yoga

  • “I participated in this course in order to bring greater trauma awareness and support into my classes and offerings. This course far exceeded my expectations and I have seen significant embodied changes within myself which I now bring into my teaching. I have had the privilege of already seeing the impacts of this training on my students, who are recognising and appreciating that held, supported and safe space that is created through what Aneta teaches and the very embodied practices - supporting them to trust themselves again. This has proved to me repeatedly the benefits of this training and I am now part of Aneta's group mentorship programme for ongoing support for me.”
    - Ruth Zephyrose

  • “The course I completed with you was the ROOF that sealed all the other training I have been doing since 2001.

I trained to become a Reflexologist in 2001. Since then I have continued to train in different therapies and modalities. Always adding to my expertise, building one therapy on top of another. Just like a block of flats that turns into a skyscraper, continually building up out of the sight, head in the clouds.

Your course has become the roof that has sealed or put the topping on, the lid on all of my training to date. I have had the foundation, I have build the four walls but until now I didn’t have a roof. I didn’t even know I needed one.

The module of the Four seasons has given me so much insight into how I have been working and how I am now working.

As well as going through our recordings I’m mentally going though my interactions with clients from as far back as I can remember, identifying where this new information could have helped, the signs I missed because I wasn’t able to read them etc so that I will be more capable of responding in a safe way.“
    - Sharon Kane

  • “I signed up for the course because I felt that this trauma-sensitive approach had been lacking in my training 17 years ago. The world has moved on and the science's understanding of trauma has changed. Aneta shares knowledge that I think every yoga teacher would benefit from because it is likely that some proportion of our clients will have experienced trauma of some sort. She teaches from an incredible experience base from her time in social work and definitely walks the talk. Daily embodied practice is evident in the way that Aneta presents herself during the training, but also in how the training is laid out with ample time for checking in and reflection. Aneta is a wonderful teacher, a flexible mentor in the mentoring sessions and an all round inspiration!”
    - Tessa Sanderson
